"7/21: Right to Contraception Act Passes in the House"

This bill will codify (make it federal law) the right to contraception, including oral and emergency medications, intrauterine devices, and condoms. This bill is in reaction to the Supreme court's overturning of Dobb's (and, in turn, Roe v. Wade) and Justice Clarence Thomas' concurring opinion on what could be next.

Only eight Republican Senators voted for the bill, and two abstained. Those eight are Rep. Cheney (WY), Rep. Fitzpatrick (PA), Rep. Gonzalez (OH), Rep. Katko (NY), Rep. Kinzinger (IL), Mace (SC), Rep. Salazar (FL), Rep. Upton (MI).
