In November 2005, a Nike advertisement featuring Brazilian football player Ronaldinho became the first video to reach 1,000,000 views.
The billion-view mark was first passed by Gangnam Style in December 2012. On January 13, 2022, Pinkfong's "Baby Shark" became the first video to hit 10,000,000,000 views.

In 2019, the top 25 amusement/theme parks worldwide saw an attendance of 253.7 million. A -67.2% drop in 2020 saw only 83.3 million attendees worldwide at the top 25 parks.

Automatically-generated channels that lack their own videos (such as Music and News) and channels that have been made effectively obsolete as a result of the transferal of their content (such as JustinBieberVEVO and TaylorSwiftVEVO) are excluded. As of April 2022, 22 of the 50 channels listed primarily produce content in English while 15 primarily produce content in Hindi.
