I don't remember this being brought up during the 2020 US Presidential State of the Union address, but it is interesting to see and generates a lot of questions. At first glance, most states on this list are in the south. It would be interesting to see which of these states receive the most transfer payments from the federal government, and how much they contribute in tax revenue.
